Finally two and Queenstown!

So yesterday, we drove to Queenstown.  The car provided by the hospital is free, and that's the only good thing about it.  I'll leave it to that.

We made it anyway (and I must say the road is in pretty good shape), and once you reach lake Wakatipu, the view is absolutely breathtaking.  We stopped for pictures a few times, it was a bit chilly outside so close to the water but totally worth it.

This weekend was the beginning of the winter festival in Queenstown.  I had a few random thoughts about a similar festival in Quebec and had a good chuckle.  Although people here like to pretend it is winter and dress up with big jackets, hats, gloves and those horrendous huge furry boots, really, they know NOTHING of winter.  I'm still perfectly comfortable walking barefoot in my shoes.  I keep waiting for something... anything... more *winter* than this, but it just... doesn't happen.  Sadly.

So anyhoo, some good sights for sore eyes below!
